joseph Lorusso - american painter




joseph Lorusso





joseph Lorusso   was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1966 and received his formal training at the American Academy of Art. He went on to receive his B.F.A. degree from the Kansas City Art Institute. Born of Italian descent, Lorusso was exposed to art at an early age. Through several early trips to Italy, his parents introduced him to the works of the Italian Masters. Lorusso would look to these influences throughout his early artistic development and they are still evident in his work today.

Born and raised in New York City, Ricky has lived in Africa, Norway, Germany, Mexico, France, Spain, Japan, England, Italy, and Australia. He studied art at the High School of Art and Design, Parsons School of Design, and Parsons in Paris.
“Though I enjoy the work of modern masters such as Diebenkorn, Hoffman, and Motherwell, I draw my inspiration from Sargent, Zorn, and Sorolla.”

G. Bjorn Thorkelson 



G. Bjorn Thorkelson was born in Orange, CA. He has been working as an illustrator for the last 13 years and is currently making the transition to fine art. He currently shows at Gasov and Gurule in Scottsdale and The Wilcox Gallery in Jackson.
A native of Southern California, Bjorn lives with is wife Connie and four boys, T'Jae, Braden, Shawn and Riley in his Southeastern Idaho studio/home. Art has been his passion since early childhood and he cannot remember wanting to do anything else. His early "crayon studies" of kindergarten took on more importance as he realized that he wanted to be an artist. "I've always loved to draw," he says, "it's as simple as that. Painting is merely an extension of that desire".
